Tennis Lessons

Hello all !

The tennis team has been recieving quite a couple of emails asking to join the tennis lessons .The tennis lessons are on wednesdays 3-5pm or saturdays9-11am ( you can come for both ) . EACH tennis lesson cost $10 each .Its pretty much compulsory for you to own a tennis racket , and to show up for the tennis lessons properly attired , with shoes and your money for the coach :D

NYP Open Day 5 (Last Day)

Hi all!

The NYP Open 2010 has finally come to an end. It has been quite a successful one despite the constant fear of bad weather. Now, presenting the winners...

Men's Singles

Sliver medalist: Khalis

Gold Medalist: Tan Jian Zhou

Men's Doubles

Sliver medalist: Lim Guanghong and Liang Yaosheng

Gold medalist: Khalis and Nurman

Ladies' Doubles

Congratulations to all! Everyone did well!

Tennis Team people.... the fun's over... time to get back for training! 

For the others, Roland Garros 2010 (French Open) has started so tune it to that!

NYP Open Day 4

Hi all!

Sorry for the late update! Day 4 has already ended and we are preparing for Day 5 (the Last Day).

We have finished all the bronze medals matches and congrats to all the winners! As for the Ladies Singles Finals, congrats to both finalists! Both of you have done a great job!

Just to name the winners.... (unable to upload the photos, blogger is having problems)

For the Men's Doubles, the bronze medal goes to Phang Keyuan and Yap Hanxiong!

For the Ladies' Doubles, the bronze medal goes to Wong Yaoqi and Sarah Ho!

For the Men's Singles, the bronze medal goes to Liew Chee Wee!

For the Ladies's Singles, it is as follows...

NYP Open Day 3

Hi all!

It was quite a hectic Day 3 with the rain and match delays. Anyways, Congrats to the people who made it to the finals! For those who didn't make it, remember to fight for your bronze medal tomorrow!

Below are the revised draws after the matches today. Please check to see how you have progressed. Changes have also been made to the match schedule (below match schedule) as we have an unfinished match from today. Do check and know what time you have to report at the courts. 

We will be using the North Wing Tennis Courts (below the stadium) tomorrow, 20th May, Thurs, the registration booth will be at the Courts instead of the Stadium, so do take note!

For all the matches tomorrow, they will be played at 1st to reach 9. Play a tie-break at 8-8.

If you are able to come down to the courts early, please do so. You may be allowed to play earlier and end earlier too.

NYP Open Day 2

Hi all!

Day 2 of the NYP Open is finally over. Congrats to the winners! Although there was a bit of rain, the sky managed to clear up and we managed to finish up the matches that were scheduled for today.

 

Below are the revised draws after the matches today, you can check on the progress of players and find out who you will be meeting next.

We will be using the South Wing Tennis Courts (behind SIT, next to NYP apartments) tomorrow, 19th May, Wed, the registration booth will be at the Courts instead of the Stadium, so do take note!

For matches M4, M5, M6, M7, there are the quarterfinals, so it will be the same format as today. 1st to reach 6. 6-6, tie break, 7 points.

We will be starting on the semi-finals matches tomorrow, we will be playing on the format of 1st to reach 9 instead of 6. When 8-8, continue with a tie-break to 7 points.

If you are able to come down to the courts early, please do so. You may be allowed to play earlier and end earlier too.

NYP Open Day 1

Hi all!

Day 1 of the NYP Open is finally over. Congrats to the winners of the 1st and some 2nd rounds.

Below are the revised draws after the matches today, you can check on the progress of players and find out who you will be meeting next.

As only the North Wing Tennis Courts will be used tomorrow, 18th May, Tues, the registration booth will be at the Courts instead of the Stadium, so do take note!

Draws and Match Schedule

Hi all!

The Draws and Match Schedule are out already! It is posted up at the side bar, above the tag board. The rules and regulations has been moved to the bottom of the blog, so just scroll ALL the way down. 

Remember to check the time slot for your matches and report at the registration booth on time! The booth will be at the NYP Stadium. 

On a side note, there has been a little mistake in the rules. For matches that are played on a first to reach 6 games format, a tie break will be played at 6 games all (6-6). NOT 5 games all (5-5). 

As for matches that are played on a first to reach 9 games format, a tie break will be played at 8 games all (8-8). NO CHANGE.

Hi all!!

Here's an update about the NYP Open registration!

For the complete set of rules and regulations and registration form, please download the document at the side bar, above the tagboard! --->>>>>

You may print it out, fill it up and pass it to us at the booth by 6th May, Thursday at 4pm. Alternatively, you can also collect it from the booth and fil it up on the spot. Your choice!

We have also created a Facebook group, NYP Tennis Open 2010, you can go ahead and join it. Do remember to check for updates so you can find out the draws and the schedule of the Open.

NYP Open 2010

Hi all!

We are organizing NYP Open again this year!


DETAILS

Date: 17th- 21st May 2010
Time: 5pm- 9pm
Venue: NYP North and South Wing Tennis Courts

Events: Men's Single, Men's Doubles, Women's Single and Women's Double
* Racquets will not be provided

The registration will be from 4th- 6th May 2010, at a booth outside the Fast Food Canteen (McDonald's) from 10am to 4pm.

This tournament is open to all NYP students, so if you are able to play, come on down to participate!

Club Crawl 2010

It's another year of Club Crawl.

This year's theme: HAPPINESS!
What does Happiness mean to you?

Tennis booth is next to the stage, nearer to the rock wall! So come on down and check us out!

DETAILS

Tennis lessons are priced at $80 for $8 lessons
When you complete these 8 lessons, you can either choose to continue for another 8 lessons or stop.
There will be no refunds or make-up lessons.
Lessons will be available on Wednesday, 3pm-5pm OR Saturday 9am-11am at NYP North Wing Tennis Courts. Please choose 1 session and stick to it.

Rackets will also be sold @ $70.
You can also choose to buy your own from outside.

For more details regarding the lessons, please come down for the orientation on 8th May 2010, 9am at NYP stadium.
The coach will be there to give you more details about the lessons and rackets. After which, you may register for you preferred session and order your rackets.
